Daughter of Smoke And Bone

Around the world, black handprints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.
In a dark and dusty shop, a devil's supply of human teeth grown dangerously low.

And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherwordly war.

Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real; she's prone to disappearing on mysterious "errands"; she speaks many languages--not all of them human; and her bright blue hair actually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she's about to find out.

When one of the strangers--beautiful, haunted Akiva--fixes his fire-colored eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?

ZOMG!!! I absolutely LOVED this book! I got so engrossed in it, and despite the confusion on the p.o.v and the names I cant remember and such, it sucked me in. I loved how the author stretched out the suspence and weaved in a story that is so unlike any other that I have read. Never before have I read a story about an angel and 'Monsters'. They call them another name in this book, but I cant pronounce it, much less spell it.
I cried a few times, and laughed even more throughout my journey. I loved the ironic sence of humor the characters had, and the world in which they lived in.
I was so into this book that I yelled at it a few times and got pissed at the end. Wanna know why?? It said ---
To be continued...

ZOMG!!! it was fustrating!

Ok, off the ramblings now. Anywhooo... the stories of how the angels and the 'monsters' were made was kinda sad, but also... inspiring. I love when and author can create something like that and you have to wonder if its true or not. And every writer has their own opinion on a subject and weave them in different ways into their stories. Those are the best of all.
So, without giving away any spoilers, because, as I guess you can tell, this is a spoil free blog.

I rate it 5 out of 5 Roses because of the way the story was written and how wounderfully the character`s were portrayed. And I seem to be at a loss of words, because I cannot continue this review. My mind is drawing a blank, and its screaming to get ahold of the sequal.
Although answers were, after so many chapters!!!, answered, the biggest question remains--
"Did she really leave him? For good??"
Also another thing. I did not expect romance. It was a shocking revelation when they meet, and things just seem to heat up soon after. The only thing that seemed to discourage me was the fact that they fell in love too quickly, in both lives.
Oooppseee...
Thats my que to go. :)

P.S -- It has been brought to my attention that I should credit where I got the pictures and the details ( things in itallics).
I get the details from goodreads, where I have an account there. Look me up under the name Brooklynn N. Gibbs.
I have been recently been getting the pictures from photobucket, but in the past I have gotten them from goodreads, also.
