Waiting On Wednesday #11: Fire and Flood by Victoria Scott

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine. Every week bloggers post about which book they are most anticipating coming out. This week I am looking forward to Fire and Flood by Victoria Scott. I would love to have a print copy of this book -- it just seems like one of those types of stories.

If your living under a rock and haven't heard about this book yet, here is what its about, taken from Goodreads.

Fire & Flood (Fire & Flood, #1)

Fire & Flood (Fire & Flood #1)

by
A modern day thrill ride, where a teen girl and her animal companion must participate in a breathtaking race to save her brother's life—and her own.

Tella Holloway is losing it. Her brother is sick, and when a dozen doctors can't determine what's wrong, her parents decide to move to Montana for the fresh air. She's lost her friends, her parents are driving her crazy, her brother is dying—and she's helpless to change anything.

Until she receives mysterious instructions on how to become a Contender in the Brimstone Bleed. It's an epic race across jungle, desert, ocean, and mountain that could win her the prize she desperately desires: the Cure for her brother's illness. But all the Contenders are after the Cure for people they love, and there's no guarantee that Tella (or any of them) will survive the race.

The jungle is terrifying, the clock is ticking, and Tella knows she can't trust the allies she makes. And one big question emerges: Why have so many fallen sick in the first place?

Waiting on Wednesday #7: Rome by Jay Crownover

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Breaking the Spine. Its all kinds of wonderful. This weeks pick is:

Rome (Marked Men, #3)

Rome (Marked Men #3)

by
Cora Lewis is a whole lot of fun, and she knows how to keep her tattooed bad boy friends in line. But all that flash and sass hide the fact that she’s never gotten over the way her first love broke her heart. Now she has a plan to make sure that never happens again: She’s only going to fall in love with someone perfect.

Rome Archer is as far from perfect as a man can be. He’s stubborn and rigid, he’s bossy and has come back from his final tour of duty fundamentally broken. Rome’s used to filling a role: big brother, doting son, super soldier; and now none of these fit anymore. Now he’s just a man trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life while keeping the demons of war and loss at bay. He would have been glad to suffer it alone, until Cora comes sweeping into his life and becomes the only color on his bleak horizon.

Perfect isn’t in the cards for these two, but imperfect might just last forever . . .

Waiting On Wednesday #6: Jet by Jay Crownover

Loved the first one, cant wait for the next one! Rule is the first book -- look for my review somewhere below! I highly recommend you read this series and this author`s works. Their brilliant!

Jet (Marked Men, #2)

Jet (Marked Men #2)

by
With his tight leather pants and a sharp edge that makes him dangerous, Jet Keller is every girl’s rock and roll fantasy. But Ayden Cross is done walking on the wild side with bad boys. She doesn’t want to give in to the heat she sees in Jet’s dark, haunted eyes. She’s afraid of getting burned from the sparks of their spontaneous combustion, even as his touch sets her on fire.

Jet can’t resist the Southern Belle with mile-long legs in cowboy boots who defies his every expectation. Yet the closer he feels to Ayden, the less he seems to know her. While he’s tempted to get under her skin and undo her in every way, he knows firsthand what happens to two people with very different ideas about relationships.

Will the blaze burn into an enduring love. . . or will it consume their dreams and turn them to ashes?

Waiting On Wednesday #5: The King by J.R. Ward (Black Dagger Brotherhood #12)

So, I keep forgetting what day it is. Crazy, right? Im thinking its Monday or something. Anywhoo, Im like -- OMG! I need to tell people (who arent even remotely interested) what book I am waiting to come out. And after a long decision, I chose The King by J.R. Ward because, well, I freaking love that series and this book is taking me back to my favorite character. -fangirl squeel-

I have been reading this series with my mom (I got her hooked on them), and own like half the book and I swear, I will get this one even if I have to get on my hands and knees in the middle of Wally World to beg someone. Late birthday present, anyone? ;)

As many people have probably pointed out already, the cover irks me. Its just certain aspects that fans like me notice. Im not going to point them out incase you havnt read the series yet, so no worries there. But still. Irks. Me. This book is intended for mature readers ( see how I didnt say 18+? Maturity depends on the person), so there is a caution. Anywho, heres what the book is about :)

The King (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #12)

The King (Black Dagger Brotherhood #12)

The newest installment in J.R. Ward’s #1 New York Times bestselling Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Wrath and the Brotherhood are locked in an epic battle over his throne and the very future of the vampire race.

Even that little bit tells you just how awesome its going to be! Expected publication is March 2014 (booo!! But just in time for my graduation), so maybe there will be more info in the future?

What book are you waiting on?
