ARC Review: Blood Stained Tranquility by N. Isabelle Blanco

Blood Stained Tranquility (The Szolites, #2)Blood Stained Tranquility by N. Isabelle Blanco
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So, I'm going to start out by saying that if you read the first book when it first came out and you have a terrible memory or read a lot of books (like I do), you might want to either skim through the first book or re-read it to re-fresh your memory. I dived in, and I had read the first one early on and found myself sorta lost at first, but while the book gave me a refresher on what had happened, I think it might have helped if I had read the first one closer to the second one.

And if you haven't read EITHER of the books and your like "Hey, these books look awesome" and you just happen to be looking at this review for some odd reason, then now you know not to waste any time between the books. And yes, both of the books are freaking awesome.

I did manage to get myself confused, yet again, on some of the characters, though. It happened in the first book. But I pushed on! Cant say I figured that out, but Im working on it! Hopefully the third book helps. And if not maybe a re-read of the series will help? Because re-reading the series will be awesome. Its just that cool.

Blood Stained Tranquility is, if you have not guessed yet, about the God Zenriel. Mannnnn is he in a battle with himself. Two totally different people (Zen AND War) he is one of those contradictions you just want to lick because hes totally hot. But I really wanted to kick his ass a lot. He makes very stupid choices but then he turns around and does something that makes you just want to hug him.

Eve is just badass with a touch of sap in her. I have been disappointed in the past that a character that has been portrayed as totally tough and stuff has been totally sappy and just -- not what you expected. While I thought Eve might have been a little too soft, her past has been exposed and it totally fit her. I think I liked her even more than I did, because she was just a strong character in my eyes.

I cried a couple of times. Yea, I'm a sap, but its been a while since I cried during a story. I hit a dry period on books that moved me so much that I wanted to cry, then the book before this one, Ruined by Tracy Wolff, made me cry like five times, and I picked this one up and it made me cry a couple times and I was all like "SCORE!".

So, that's a bonus for me, if you didn't know that already.

There is plenty of action in this book, of both the fighting and sex variety, and it might just be a little more spicier than the last book.

And speaking of the last book, I am pleased that Dyletri and Ismini are also seen quite a lot in this book. And their drama hadn't ended. You'll have to read the book to find out more, but its good.

There are plenty of power couples in this story that makes you just PRAY that Ms. Blanco will publish the next book faster. And the ones after that, because MAN, I just have to know what happens next.

I totally recommend that you go out and buy this series, and if you have already read the first one and your not sure if you want to pick up this one -- DO IT! Its totally awesome and I'm glad that I did. I want to buy them for my actual, real life book shelf one day.

I received an advanced ecopy of this book via netgalley in exchange for an honest review. It in no way swayed my opinion.

The wheels of destiny are spiraling out of control quicker than even the gods can keep up. They all thought they knew what war was like—but have no idea how bad things are about to get. In the continuation of the Szolite series, two of the most dangerous powers in the Universe will be unleashed, threatening to push two fated beings apart.

A normal human girl. . .
Evesse Salazar never imagined that a violent end to her already difficult life would be just the beginning. After being thrown into a vortex, shredded apart, and killed, she is reborn as something more. Something she might not be able to manage. If that weren’t enough, she awakes newly mated to the last being in the Universe she ever would have chosen.
Now, with no other option, Eve must come to terms with her powers, her past, and her mate before he loses control of what might just be uncontrollable.

A god with a monster locked inside. . .
For over eleven thousand years, Zeniel, God of Tranquility, has done everything in his power to keep his other half, the God of Vengeance, from breaking free. A single glance from Mavrak is all it takes to kill those deemed guilty. The wraiths under his command can tear thousands to shreds in an instant, no matter how small their crimes. Zeniel knows he must remain at peace to keep Mavrak at bay, but he’s rendered helpless with one look into the eyes of his mate.
The longing for Evesse is enough to rip the demon out of its cage, and with the Gods on the verge of a cataclysmic war, Mavrak has every intention of gorging on both his mate, and the vengeance he so desperately needs
