ARC Review: Claimed by a Deomn King by Felicity Heaton

Claimed by a Demon KingClaimed by a Demon King by Felicity E. Heaton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So, I think I did a no no with this book. I didnt read the first book, and I didnt realize that this was the second book in the series and I went ahead and read it. It was also my first Felicity Heaton book. This isnt the first time I have found myself in this predicament, btw.

I will say, for anyone who has done or is about to do the same thing I did, that personally I dont think that you will be that bad off without the first book. It might be good to go back and read it if you have read this one first, and I will make sure I do that, but aside from a few things, I wasnt too lost.

I really like the world Felicity Heaton painted in this book. Her version of hell is very different from the ones I see in other books, and its always refreshing to see something different.

Sable was totally different than what I expected of her. Shes all badass in the very beginning of the book, but very soon (and often after that) shes totally embarrassing herself and its not very... flattering to her character. There are, however, a few instances where she lives up to the "expectations" placed on her.

Thorn is... well, a man. I did like him, and I gave him a little slack because hes not human and hes just so adorable. I really liked his character. I don't, however, love how he can have this opinion one minute and change it the next minute and still manage to confuse me because he just switches back and forth (you will have to read the boo to figure that out all on your own).

Im looking forward to any future installments because the secondary characters (the ones without a book already) seem so interesting and I cant wait to see what happens for them.

I totally recommend this book for you if you love demons, elves, vampires, werewolves, war, hell, and plenty of plot twists! And I enjoyed my first taste of Felicity Heaton`s writing.

I received an ecopy in exchange for an honest review. It in no way affected my opinion.

Claimed by a Demon King

Claimed by a Demon King (Eternal Mates #2)

by
The moment the demon King Thorne of the Third Realm set eyes on the mortal huntress Sable, he knew she was his fated one. The fiery, dangerous female awakened hungers he had never experienced before, a dark craving and passion that has consumed him in their time apart. As the lunar cycle wanes, she enters his world again and nothing will stand in the way of him claiming his forever with her—not the relentless assault from the Fifth Realm or the dark elf male determined to seduce her out of his grasp.

Intent on achieving the coveted position of commander at Archangel, Sable leads her small team into the dark underworld and the Third Realm, to a war where her allies are the very creatures she normally hunts—vampires, werewolves, and demons. Her eagerness to lead the deadly mission has everything to do with winning her promotion, and nothing to do with the kingdom’s brash, lethally seductive demon king—a king who stirred fierce desire and wildfire heat in her with just a look and an innocent touch when they first met, and has been in her wicked dreams ever since.

As the gathering storm between rivals unleashes irresistible passion that flares white-hot and the heat of the battle brings life-shattering realizations, can Sable place her duty before her heart? Or will she surrender to her deepest desires and be claimed by a demon king?
