ARC Review: Blood Stained Tranquility by N. Isabelle Blanco

Blood Stained Tranquility (The Szolites, #2)Blood Stained Tranquility by N. Isabelle Blanco
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So, I'm going to start out by saying that if you read the first book when it first came out and you have a terrible memory or read a lot of books (like I do), you might want to either skim through the first book or re-read it to re-fresh your memory. I dived in, and I had read the first one early on and found myself sorta lost at first, but while the book gave me a refresher on what had happened, I think it might have helped if I had read the first one closer to the second one.

Review: Ruined by Tracy Wolff (Ethan Frost #1)

Ruined (Ethan Frost, #1)Ruined by Tracy Wolff
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holy Hell. Where to start? I finished this book hours ago (from the time Im writing this) and I'm still reeling. From the beginning I was swept in. Before I knew it I was halfway through the book and I just didn't want to put it down despite the fact that I knew I needed to sleep. Yes, its one of THOSE books.

Lets see... I cried like FIVE freaking times throughout this book. Laughed a whole bunch of times, and had to fan myself. This book was awesome. I enjoyed watching the relationship between Chloe and Ethan grow, and it was even juicer (no, not because of the sex)because they both have so many freaking issues its not funny.

(Mini) Review: The Mysterious Case of Mr. Strangeway by Karina Cooper

The Mysterious Case of Mr. Strangeway (The St. Croix Chronicles, #0.5)The Mysterious Case of Mr. Strangeway by Karina Cooper
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

While I enjoy the idea and plot of this story, I just cant seem to grasp any interest for it. The "Language" of it, which I imagine was the common "language" of the time period this book is set in, is very confusing. I even found myself reading it in the voice of an old lady, and I found that distasteful.

I was lost and confused and eventually had to put the book down. It wasnt for me. However, I noted that the author had other series, and they look more to my taste, so Im not giving up on her writing just yet.

But dont let my review stop you from picking up the book if it looks interesting to you! You might actually like it, where I could not get into it and was lost. Everyone has a different taste in books.

(Mini) Challenge Review:The Peculiar Pets of Miss Pleasance by Delilah S. Dawson

The Peculiar Pets of Miss Pleasance (Blud, #1.6)The Peculiar Pets of Miss Pleasance by Delilah S. Dawson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So, I'm a big fan of Delilah S. Dawson. I love her steampunk vampire romances, and this one was no different, although it was less steampunk-ish. It was shorter, of course, being a novella, but I wish it could have been longer. I would have loved to see more of Frannie`s and Thom`s romance blossom more, I guess I have to be satisfied with what I got.

I like Frannie. Shes sassy and kind all in one package. Although I was confused throughout most of the book on why shes kinds of skittish and such, but when it all came out, even though I would have appreciated more detail, I kind of get it.

And Thom? Can I have him? Hes such a sexy Scotsman and is very kind and attentive. Seriously, I want him.

All in all, I enjoyed reading this book. The plot was interesting, the world is, as always, interesting, the characters savory and quirky in their own way, and although I didn't really like the ending, watching the mystery pan out was sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat good.

(ARC) Challenge Review: Bared by Stacey Kennedy (Club Sin #2)

Bared (Club Sin, #2)Bared by Stacey Kennedy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ok, so this book is NOTHING like Claimed! Its dirtier and maybe a bit more... dramatic. But lemme tell you, despite the fact that throughout half of the book I wanted to punch both Cora and Aidan, I did enjoy this book.

It was hot and passionate and so damn confusing with the ups and downs and the "OMG hes breaking my heart but I refuse to leave! Or tell him how I feel!" (not to give away anything), that I just didn't want to put down the book because of it. I wanted to see what was next and it about drove me crazy.

Cora, while I expected her to be slightly tougher, surprised me a bit. She was very... emotional throughout the book. It wasn't until about the end that I saw her as I expected her to be. Aidan kept saying she was strong, but I had my doubts. Although with rational thinking, I can see it. Kind of. But still, I did expect more from her, but I didnt hate her character, which is a very good thing.

Aidan... OMG I just wanted to punch him. Yea, he had his moments where I was all "Awwwww..." because hes really sweet and passionate and just perfect, but hes soooooo.... a guy. And not only that, but hes a guy who had a traumatic thing happen (Again, no spoilers!) that kinda blinded him to everything, well, romantic.

All in all, I did enjoy reading Bared, and I cant wait to get my hands on more books in the series.

I received a digital copy of the book via netgalley, and it in no way swayed my opinion. Stacey Kennedy and her amazing writing did that.

Mini Challenge Review: Blood Drops by Tracy Cooper- Posey

Blood Drops (The Blood Stone #1.1)Blood Drops by Tracy Cooper-Posey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have read two of three of Tracy Cooper-Posey`s Kiss Across Time series, and while I really like the ideas and concepts of those books, I just wasnt a big fan of them. Of course, I am going to give her another try.

This one I really liked. It had mystery, romance, and of course, my favorite, a vampire! While I didnt like how the unveiling of the vampire went, at least it wasnt awkward.

It was very short, so there isnt very much to say. I wish there had been a touch more passion towards the end, but I am still pleased with how it went and I am just itching to read the rest of the books in the series to see where these guys went.

A warning: this book isnt for the faint of heart.

I received a digital copy of this book off of netgalley in exchange for an honest review. It has not swayed my opinion at all.

ARC Short Review: Fireblood by Trisha Wolfe

Fireblood (Fireblood, #1)Fireblood by Trisha Wolfe
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Once again Trisha weaves a compelling story and world that just sucks readers in and doesnt let them go. I fully enjoyed reading another one of her books. While it took me a bit longer to read this one, once it hit that certain spot I didnt want to put it down.

The characters are amazing and I wouldnt change a thing about it. The POV annoyed me a bit because I felt that it should have been third person. It would have been much much better if we could delve into the minds of the other characters. Maybe a bit more jucier, too ;) The romance was good and OMG I want Devlan.

Im suprised, too, because Im not used to her books actually having a non cliff hangy ending. I dont have to anticipate another book even though I found multiple spots she could have cliffed us at.

All in all, there isnt much to say about this book other than the fact that you should go out and buy it. Stat.

Seriously, youll love it. I love Trisha`s writing style and the worlds she builds and the characters just fit. And while this review totally sucks and I promise to re-do it, take this as a hint to BUY IT WHEN IT COMES OUT!

Review: Forgotten Sins by Rebecca Zanetti

Forgotten Sins (Sins Brothers, #1)Forgotten Sins by Rebecca Zanetti
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I cant tell you how long I have been waiting to get my hands on this. I got my copy from Netgalley (Thanks for approving me!) and I read it as soon as I can.

From the beginning its filled with mystery -- why did this chick marry a guy she barely knew, and just after a couple of months after meeting him? Why are people trying to kill them?

From the start I admired Josie. I could tell she was strong, confident -- and completely heartbroken, and despite that she kept charging through life. Love it! I will say one thing, though.... I would not have lasted so long resisting Shane. Like SERIOUSLY!? Was she dropped on her head when she was little?

Shane himself is a little intriguing to me. I want to hate him, but at the same time I just want to push Josie away and take him myself LOL. And man, is he deadly. Some of his fight scenes made even me cringe.

I am quite impressed that the author was able to have two conflicts going at one time and manage to not have them "clash", if you get my meaning. Instead of one big gap, it smoothly flows, and while the ending really aggravated me, I felt that it was better than it could have been.

Im looking forward to delving into the Brother`s story and more of their sexyness, because seriously, who wouldnt?

If you havnt read it already, pick it up as soon as you can! Its a must read and I look forward to future installments. Come on, join the reading of the Sexy people!

ARC Review: Bound by Night by Larissa Ione (Moonbound Clan Vampire #1)

Bound by Night by Larissa Ione
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Only Larissa Ione books that I have read are the Lord of Deliverance books. The vampires in that series are VERY different from the ones in this series.

In this world that Larissa Ione created, vampires are known to the humans - and slaves! Or on the run and in hiding. Anywhoo, this book revolves around Nicole, a human whose family is the leading manufacturers in everything, well, anti vampires, and Riker, a vampire who hates humans because they killed his mate.

I will say, it wasn't at all what I was expecting (especially because I was used to the OTHER type of vampires that she had introduced us to), and at times it was boring. But for an introduction into this world, it wasn't that bad.

Short Review: Gone with the Wolf (Seattle Wolf Pack #1) by Kristin Miller

Gone with the Wolf (Seattle Wolf Pack, #1)Gone with the Wolf by Kristin Miller
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love werewolf stories almost as much as I love vampire ones. I actually liked this book. It was sweet, well paced, and hot in some places. The story line was easy to follow, the characters easy to keep track of, and it was original.
There really isn't much to say about it. I would defiantly read more of the series because some of the other characters really made an impression on me. I enjoyed this read and dont have anything bad to say about it, really.
I recommend this for anyone who loves mature werewolf reads, with sexy alphas and their evil, but equally hot, brothers vying to kill the ass kicking heroin.

Review: Wounded Angel by Stacy Gail (short)

Wounded Angel (Earth Angels, #3)Wounded Angel by Stacy Gail
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So, what to say about this book? Well, for one... I LOVED IT! Honestly, these books just get better and better! They are so well written and captivating. Finally, after a long wait, we finally see how the books are connected! Yay! I was starting to wonder...

Characters from the other two books come into play in this book, and its all up to Nate and his lovely badass lady friend, Ella to hunt down the evil demonic spirit that is trying to take over the world.

As they struggle to solve the mystery of their target- and come to terms with their past- a passionate heat smothers between them and their attraction grows too hot to resist....

And let me tell you... HOT! By far, this is my favorite. It even made me cry. To sum it up, its a broken woman healing a broken man. gah! The emotions. Stacy Gail is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors, what with her sexy angels and all. Girls Rule? Ya know it! ;)

If you havnt read any of the books in the series, I highly recommend this for anyone 17+ and fans of Angel, Demons, Fallen Angels, and Kick- ass heroines.

A descendant of the Angel of Vengeance, Nate da Luca was gifted with an uncanny ability to find things. It made his job as a detective a breeze—until he learned the hard way that some things should remain hidden. After that, his powers vanished, along with his belief in himself. Which is going to make tracking down Gabriella Littlefield for his latest client a challenge.

Personal trainer Ella Little paid a hefty price for her life—now all she wants is to live it in peace. Then a sexy hulk of a man turns up in her gym, reigniting desires she thought she'd left behind along with her real name and hair color.

Desires she can't deny even after she discovers Nate's no stranger to her dark past.

Before he can convince her the attraction is mutual, Nate's going to have to earn Ella's trust. But a demon is playing for keeps in the world of humans, using Ella as bait, and the last thing they have is time.
